Petra is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the most visited site in Jordan. Your day starts at your hotel or at the Ramon airport (located 20 KM from Arava border crossing) where your driver meets you for the short drive to the Yitzhak Rabin Border “Arava Border”: There we have professional representatives on both Israeli and Jordanian side to assist you with formalities and visa.
Leave the border heading into Aqaba on the Red Sea for a tasty buffet breakfast at The Al Manara Hotel (a Luxury Collection hotel by Marriott)
After breakfast drive approximately two-hour to Petra. Your guide will take you on foot from the visitor’s center to enter Petra by the once secret route to the “Rose Red City” – Petra, winding down through the famous “Siq” – a narrow natural gorge with its fascinating colours and curves. Then suddenly the valley of Petra will open in front of you, revealing the famous “Khazane” (“Treasury”)
The guide explaining and showing you points along the way will guide you
deeper into the site to pass more of the famous monuments carved into the red Sandstone, including the amphitheater, facades and the Royal tombs walking down as far as the colonnaded street with your guide, who will be explaining along the way. Then you have time to venture on your own to enjoy, take photos and at your own pace return to the visitor center. There your guide will be waiting at a pre designated time to take you to the unique Guest House Hotel by Crowne Plaza for lunch before a quiet drive back to Arava.
