Pick-up 07:30 from your hotel in Eilat or from Ramon Airport located about 20 km from Eilat for transfer to the Yitzhak Rabin border crossing (referred to as Wadi Araba border terminal) There meet our representative for assistance and direction with passport procedure before crossing to Jordan where our Jordanian border representative will be waiting to assist visa and border procedures: On completion of all formalities he will direct you to driver and your guide for the day. Together you travel along the Jordanian “Desert Highway” before reaching the Kings highway to take you onward to Petra.
Alight from your vehicle to start your exploration by foot to the “Rose Red City” – Petra . You’ll start at the visitor’s center then winding our way down through the famous “Siq” – a narrow natural gorge which created the secret entrance into Petra. Your guide will show you the points of interest along the Siq as he unveils the history behind the ruins. Then suddenly the valley of Petra will open up in front of you, revealing the famous “Khazane” (“Treasury”) , We then venture further into the site passing by the amphitheater, to view more famous monuments carved into the red Sandstone, including the facades and royal tombs, onwards as far as the colonnaded street. Our guide will then leave you to explore and enjoy Petra before wandering back up the Siq to the visitors center to regroup and meet up with the guide at a designated time before moving to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch we depart Petra heading back to Arava border: Time permitting a short city-tour through Aqaba.
Farewell to Jordan, and welcome back to Israel where our representative will be waiting and arranging your transfer back to your pre booked destination.
